Non-woven wallpapers: suitable for all substrates, walls, ceilings, etc., with all types of interior plaster, plasterboard, concrete panels, wallpaper underlay, chipboard, etc. These wallpapers are particularly suitable for walls with cracks in the substrate, they stabilise pressure on sensitive substrates (soft fibre boards, etc.). The advantage of non-woven wallpaper is its perfect breathability.
Clean the walls of the room thoroughly and adjust any unevenness, e.g. with levelling compound. Remove old wallpaper and water-soluble paint. If the subfloor is dry and firm, you can proceed to gluing. Fresh plaster, plasterboards and all absorbent substrates should be primed. You can use the wallpaper adhesive to prime the substrate according to the enclosed instructions. Damp substrates are not suitable. Also, if the substrate is distinctly different in colour or pattern, it is better to coat it with a primer in the shade of the wallpaper. If you repaint the wallpaper, the substrate may be different in colour.
A special adhesive for non-woven wallpaper must be used for bonding.
Length of the strip of non-woven wallpaper = height of the room + 0.05 m allowance at the top and bottom for cutting through. If the non-woven wallpaper is patterned, the roll is applied so that it always follows the start of the pattern. It is better to mark the top of the non-woven wallpaper with a pencil to prevent the wallpaper strip from turning over during gluing.
Stick the first strip from the window towards the door. Mark a vertical line beforehand using a plumb bob. Stick the wallpaper strips close together, only in corners and problem areas can you overlap them. Turn off the electricity when gluing over sockets and switches, unscrew the cover when gluing the wallpaper itself, stick the wallpaper on and then cut it out. When gluing window recesses, allow the wallpaper to overhang and then cut it off accurately. For radiators, just back the wallpaper 10-15 cm. For ceilings, glue in pairs. Apply the adhesive to the wall or to the wallpapered substrate ( according to the manufacturer's instructions ) with a spreading roller. Roll the dry strips of non-woven wallpaper face inwards, place the resulting roll on the adhesive-coated wall, unroll the wallpaper and press it onto the wall with a rubber roller. Cut off the edges of the wallpaper that overhang at the bottom with a knife using a ruler. If possible, remove any adhesive residue immediately with a clean cloth. If you want to individually decorate the wall with a border, mark the place where you want to stick it on the dry wallpaper with a pencil and a ruler.
